Dear Lord

Though I thank you everyday
even when I wander confused and dazed
wondering why things are this way.
I thank you anyways.
Contemplating on the year passed
since I last saw the face of glad
One thing stands out above the fray
An angel that came my way.
Sent to save my day for a while
with gentle voice and sweet smile.
To allow me rest in comfort
Provide soothing words of support.
To remind me what is life
every time I gaze into her eyes.
In the simple conversations with her
To see the beauty in what matters.
For this I am thankful today
You sent this sweet angel my way.
Protect her as you do me
May she always smile and be happy
And when the day comes to march on
I’ll cherish her kindness unforgotten
Remember fondly with a smile
What a sweet angel I had for a while.
By the way Lord, tell her for me
She matters a lot to me
And if you please, it will mean a lot to me
a big hug and gentle kiss from me
