39..."In Love"
Life is so fickle indeed!
It comes bearing gifts of pain
delusions and confusion.
Perplexing twisted fates
all of our own doings
creations of the mind.
Prisoners of our own hearts
captives of our own accord
the torturer of our soul.
Hiding behind a facade
of distorted smiles and streaks
of so many tears fallen.
We love what we can't have
Want what we don't need.
Plagued by "in love" disease.
Love irrationally unconditional
one who does not love back.
The eyes are so blind.
Need the constant rejection
of who does not want.
Yet gets all your attention.
I don't deserve to be in love
or maybe its vice-verse.
I can't seem to get this right.
What I am keenly aware of
Is, I suffer from "in love" disease
and it hurts so much inside.

38...Don't give up on us
Don’t give up on us,
give up on this love affair.
Give up on what we have
please don’t, if you care.
Don’t bring down the walls
we built with so much care.
With tenderness and love we built
something strong…so rare.
Baby think this through
we’ve invested so much in love.
Invested in the simple things
of our dreams...or so it seems.
How can we pretend
to bring down this mighty love.
Live besides the ruins
of our dreams…this misdeed.
The promises we have,
all the pacts that were made.
Piece by piece all fading away
Don’t let it end this way...please stay
If this love does not work out,
chances are we’ll both regret this.
Baby this love must survive this.
This love must persist!
This love must persist!
This love must persist!

37...Where is my fellow Human?
Where are the people?
Where is the nation?
Today my eyes wide awaken
where is my fellow Human?
My brothers, my sisters,
sons and daughters
of fathers and mothers
grandmothers and grandfathers.
In this mountain of sorrow
they've covered your face
with your brother's back
hiding you in this place.
The earth not in your eyes
or in your mouth to taste
the land of high mountains
from whence you came.
Now part of the rubble
part concrete part human
plowed neatly aside
as to be forgotten.
Where are the people?
Where is the nation?
Today my eyes wide awaken
where is my fellow Human?
Upon which rock shall be built
a peace from this hell,
restore the smile in those eyes,
lift this cursed veil.
Torn asunder by superstition
judgment could be understood.
Yet the dead do not speak,
only the living can turn good.
The piercing cries of sorrow
resound ever so clearly
to the heart it speaks volumes;
Is there hope in this misery?

Authors comments;
The tragic events and forces of nature unleashed in the island of Haiti. The dynamics of the human elements that have unfolded, moved me to write these humble words.
Through mine eyes seeing their perspective from afar, inspired words from an undressed soul with compassion for my fellow human being. A voice amidst the noisy silence.
Though I am not Haitian nor have I ever been there, We are of the same race.........Human.

36...Take me!
Take me by the hand
where you want me to be.
Show me the place
you want me to see.
Hold me like you want to
and don't let me go.
As long as you desire
keep holding me close.
Take me, show me
I'll carry you if need be.
But don't stop kissing me
not even to breathe.
On clear night skies
or of winter storms,
it’s your gentle lips
that keep me warm.
Burning with desires
Passion's carnal delights
Tonight...we and the aurora
caress crazy the skies.

35...Sonnet XX

I am no longer seeking flowers in space
for a perfect world in you my love, I've seen
glimmering within the depths of your eyes
the rainbow of the universe in all it's glory.
In living color from the earth rising
streaming along the endless blue skies.
My simple universe transformed forever
as Cupid's golden arrow released precise.
Showing me your marvelous galaxies,
beyond the peak of this phenomenon,
discovering a whole new world of love.
Ever since then all the flowers of space
in haste make way to my lovesick heart
and the rainbow of the universe I so love.

34...Speak
What the heart speaks of
It tells no lie.
He that hath eyes
See where real love lies.
What your eyes clearly see
Be not deceived.
Step back...see where you stand,
Now tell me what you see

33...Cows don't fly!

How is it that I have landed here
in a place where I cannot fly?
Where my feathers are shedding rapidly
and what little bit left I have
is being stepped on and mangled,
plucked away one by one.
Worse yet…clip my wings all together
so I can become one of them.
In a sorrowful existence of denial,
meaningless slogans, colorless banners,
noisy chants that pollute the air.
Fake smiles on the lips of those
that promise to lie all the time,
every time, until the end of time.
Led as cattle to the slaughter,
except for the bull of course.
Since when do cows fly? I ask.
How am I suppose to take flight
amongst all this conceit and selfishness,
pure unadulterated arrogance?
Propped up, humorless, empty souls
hiding behind a pale facade of vanity.
Spreading discontent, defective vocabulary,
distorted perceptions and illogical pride.
That only serve to divide not unite.
What happened to the soul?
The spirit of the night song
traveling in the breeze as musical notes?
The chimes of the heart, percussions and beats
with humbled gladness filled the soul.
The simple working man
With free spirits, the earth in his hands,
the sun and sea in his eyes and soul.
Where are they? Somebody tell me please!
Where are those who have wings?
Why is paradise so near yet so far?
The stars so close but I cannot touch them.
Why do I miss the sound of the ocean,
when its mist is so near to me?
All that remains is cattle.
I reiterate, “Cows do not fly!”
I have to get the hell out of here! “pa que lo sepa!”

32...Heavens
Lips that glisten moist and tender,
hills and valleys of torrid rivers.
My fingers run these corridors,
contours of delicate peaks that quiver.
Between a heaven with stars
and an enchanted forest without.
Terrestrial beings claiming a territory
twirling and whirling the stars about.
Wrapped up in fragrances and beating hearts,
quivering peaks under the shimmering stars.
Immersed in the flavor, the taste of you.
Moans and cries set these heavens apart.
Let us cast a silhouette onto this ground
and consecrate it as an altar.
So we may bear witness to the night
this heaven is not in the stars.

31...Silky Moons Blue

Dancing lovely on top of the world
under two moons, one of blue.
With sweet fragrances sublime
the night's wind song in perfect tune.
Rhythms of life embracing me
as earth and I dance under her moons.
The constellation's canopy
dressing my naked eyes blue.
Glistening on silky sheets of snow
her smile sparkles as diamonds too.
Enchanted wonder caressing me good
I dance free under the moonlight blue

30...Sweet mystery

Sweet mystery of destiny
streaming my river of dreams.
Just when I thought, I gave
all the love I could give.
You came and rescued me,
showed me what love really is.
Delightful perfumed rainbow
showering me with your mystique.
Just when I thought, I’ve reached
the top of love's mountain peak.
You showed me Everest
your mountain of love supreme.

29...Splendid

Splendid spirit, rainbow of the universe,
the immensity of the heavens in your eyes.
Graceful sensibility of divine nature.
Reincarnated spirit of true love sublime.
How is it I became entangled in your net
of marvelous dreams and endless skies?
Delightful surprise healed my broken heart,
sailed across the sea of love into my life.
Reaching the shores of my island lost,
discovering the treasures of my golden soul.
Looking for absolute love to be arisen,
embrace the happiness that once shone.
Manifested splendid wonder in the flesh,
hand in hand we'll go as destiny's elected.
Beyond the fringes of the constellations
to a universe I never imagined existed.

27...The Place

Twirling index finger
aiming precise as a fly
with glee in your eyes.
landing tenderly on mine.
Gentle palm soothing
meeting mine kind
Flowing like a river
clasped hands bind
Morning glory’s light
lies within eternal gaze
Enchanted wonder
Love has found a place

26...Sandcastles

A smile is turning into dust,
a face is crumbling sad.
Cold winds blowing, slowly eroding
sandcastles on the sand.
Unspoken words across the sky
murmurs of a heart afraid
speak abundantly clear,
the castles you built no longer stand.
Washed away with the tides
and cold winds surprise,
good intentions gave way
to misguided trust and fear.
The game that was played
experiments explored,
served only to topple
what was built in my heart.
From this cup I drink
drunk on confusion, disappointment
garnished with pain
disillusion and resentment.
As I venture towards the horizon
with fleeting glimpses along the shore.
All I see now are footprints
where sandcastles once stood.

25...Heaven without stars
Caught between a heaven with stars
and one without the moon and stars.
Quivering peaks under a fragrant moon
moans and cries set these worlds apart.
Is the place where you want me to be?
Inside the closest star to me.
Your hair falling down upon my face
like a rainbow across the sky, so sweet.
Looking at the moons inside your eyes
the twirling stars beyond the skies.
My fingers running wildly through your hair
hand in hand we go and fly.
Close your eyes take my breath away
let us fly to the moons inside your eyes
to this heaven without stars,
just you and I, you and I.
Riding high between your moons sublime
pounding hearts beating ground.
Wrestling with the heavens in our hands
new worlds we both have found

24..Sweet Little Girl Lost

Sweet little girl lost
mischievous you
Looking for trouble
trouble looking for you.
Sweet little girl lost
not so innocent you.
Why are you hurrying
to step onto the moon.
Did you call out to me?
I did not hear your cry.
Did’nt see your eyes close,
feel your pain and died.
What's your hurry
my little girl lost?
To go on jump off the world
Get out at any cost
Get out at any cost
We’ve asked ourselves many times before
Is this what I’ve bargained for?
Is this all there is?
What am I living for?
What was your worry?
Why so much heartache and pain?
Why do I want to die now
when I mention your my name?
Sweet Little girl lost,
your silky hair set
dressed to die, best shoes on
your cold arm pale and tensed
Did you not remember
My sweet little girl
I loved you...we had dreams,
you were my world!
"Save your prayers, don’t need them no more
I got the smack…won’t cry no more
Don’t wait to see me cry
you wont see me when I die
Won't even say good-bye."

23...Dear Lord
Dear Lord
Though I thank you everyday
even when I wander confused and dazed
wondering why things are this way.
I thank you anyways.
Contemplating on the year passed
since I last saw the face of glad
One thing stands out above the fray
An angel that came my way.
Sent to save my day for a while
with gentle voice and sweet smile.
To allow me rest in comfort
Provide soothing words of support.
To remind me what is life
every time I gaze into her eyes.
In the simple conversations with her
To see the beauty in what matters.
For this I am thankful today
You sent this sweet angel my way.
Protect her as you do me
May she always smile and be happy
And when the day comes to march on
I’ll cherish her kindness unforgotten
Remember fondly with a smile
What a sweet angel I had for a while.
By the way Lord, tell her for me
She matters a lot to me
And if you please, it will mean a lot to me
a big hug and gentle kiss from me
Thank You Lord

22...Springtime in New York

Rolling waters of river
bubbly currents pour.
Beyond white cascades
clouds of water roar.
Sounds of harmony
beating off the banks
Rippled smiles stream
caressing stones glad.
Prancing about each stone
birds in love to and fro
The driftwood still…listens
to this song I now own.
The lone duck upstream
a curiosity on its own
Passing by the seagull
sitting upon the stone
Cool shades of willow trees
Kind gentle breezes
The daffodils blooming
The young hearts kissing
Springtime in New York
can be lovely it seems
Beyond a patch of grass
a river rolls free.

21...That was me

Did you see me last night?
That was me,
flying along majestic skies
seeking the entrance
to the rest of my life.
On my way I saw you
but you did not see me.
I followed the stars
beyond the galaxies
then it was clear
God was waiting for me.
Now I shall rest in his peace.
Did you see me last night?
That was me.

20...All is well

When you see the color of the sunset,
When you see the arc of the sun's glow.
When you feel and hear the wind blow,
you'll know all is well, I'm in my own.
You'll see my footprints in the sand
as I venture unbowed into this land
and as I do, reach out, touch my hand
to feel alive as well, strong as I am.
