69...Sonnet XLIV
Love is not an operation of performance.
It's displayed as sentiments of loyalty
and in the works of genuine devotion,
caring, listening and understanding.
In the infancy of my vanity and conceit
a misspent youth did not heed these pearls.
And in my selfish arrogance as a man
could not grasp the concept of this world.
Then you came with your gentle attributes
common sense approach so charming and lovely
to humble me into enlightenment and believe,
you're the best thing that can happen to anybody.
Be mindful of these endearing qualities
when a King comes forth looking for a Queen.
