69...Sonnet XLIV
Love is not an operation of performance.
It's displayed as sentiments of loyalty
and in the works of genuine devotion,
caring, listening and understanding.
In the infancy of my vanity and conceit
a misspent youth did not heed these pearls.
And in my selfish arrogance as a man
could not grasp the concept of this world.
Then you came with your gentle attributes
common sense approach so charming and lovely
to humble me into enlightenment and believe,
you're the best thing that can happen to anybody.
Be mindful of these endearing qualities
when a King comes forth looking for a Queen.

68...Sonnet XLIII
Do not be confused with my expressions
or my impressions of you as extraordinary
For all the meaningful things I've written for you
have not been said to another so eloquently.
Nor can I imagine at this vulnerable stage
denying the muse that is still to discover
the hidden depths and beauty of your soul
with verses in your name and none other.
Let the mystery of it all demonstrate how
uncomplicated it is to love you all the time.
Study my words, my emotions and mind
The sacrifice I make to your happiness in kind
at the accepted risk of compromising mine,
learn from this man, you matter much in my life.
