184...Sonnet XCVI THE AFFAIR
The pages of our love affair
sustained a paradise of words
that formed chapters of discreet
titillating secrets yet discovered.
Our favorite passages contained
the coded language we exercised
to fill our worlds with excitement,
make it fade away slowly each time.
Our rendezvous under the stars
were the best kept secrets indeed.
In each others arms we learned
the wrong side was the place to be.
All the sordid elements against us
became the torment that let us breathe.

183..ELEMENTS
The first element of Life water
brought into the world wonders
exuding from your very pores;
excitement in all its natural splendor

182...DANCE OF THE SUNS
Through the mirror I saw nature smiling
in a ballad of lights dancing by our side
as your own sunshine flirting with the moon
made love with us anticipating sheer delight
The stars of the twilight's majestic canopy
fell upon us as cherries floating in a stream
to announce the soon arrival of morning's glory;
and have your own sunshine cloaked in mystery

181...Sonnet XCV FLOODGATE
Rooted long ago in keen observations
discreet barriers were slowly erected;
irreverent dams built to prevent
streams of emotions into a commitment.
You pulled levers and pushed buttons
to release the waters meant for two;
but my arrogant vanity kept its seal
and when you had done all you can do
you gave up...and I was left with a sea
with no rivers or a brook to breathe.
It was me who pushed open within you
the floodgates of resentment against me
to consume my conceit and drown my sin,
by losing you...and become the man I should be.

180...CANDOR MAN
You struggled with my candor
at times brutal honesty;
yet you stuck around to carry
measured words for you to study,
examine the heart to follow my mind.
a daunting task in your confidence
chose to take on as a project
unaware of the resolve ever present.
Your feminine wiles was no match
something inside me could not move
in the direction you wanted, together
the odds were stacked against you.
A man who knew the difference
between lust and love chose one;
so when you asked "Do you love me"
one answer prevailed...now you're gone.

179...Soldiers and Politics
Political tussles with morbid tassels
form mountains with deep canyons
its valley collects the blood spilled
of unselfish volunteer's call to action
War of words fought by politicians
while soldiers fight the real battle
on the field of death with honor
a campaign of "peace in pieces" that rattle
Stack flesh & blood, limbs and bones
all the courage, fear, tears and pain
that collectively make statistics flow
and you have a soldier's price paid.

178...Sonnet Forbidden Fruit
The bold canvas of the night sky
held a tapestry of stars chosen,
emblazoned as gems for our eyes only
in a kind of magic to mark the moment.
Hidden beauty unloved madness and trust
begging to succumb to a slower method,
dividing pulse of hearts and tremble
into the rhythm of drumbeats perfected.
Sad promises were challenged as lacking.
Deeds presented themselves as real.
If you're mine tonight and his last night;
what is the forbidden fruit's appeal?
Are we to venture into the lake of fire
in a sordid ordeal... or heaven piecemeal.
