80...Sonnet LVI
Oh! Sweet Rainbow of the universe lost,
bring back the colors that set the dawn apart.
Let your soothing voice turn the night around,
untangle these knots that grip my heart
and tell me; why I am to be deprived of you?
Have I not been sentenced already
having no expectations of true love,
relegated to ardent admirer of beauty.
What constellation can your poet gaze upon
as he wanders the wilderness of time.
Having seen and heard an angel such as you
attested to through one simple man's eyes.
Set apart from all the others who lie,
born to reveal splendor of this kind.
