The best kisses were the last
when you finally saw my resolve,
and an unexpected whisper uttered
"goodbye, my devotion is absolved."
You tossed aside my expectations,
convenient loving has lost its place;
your potions have worn off alas.
Why does it remind me of someone else's fate?

152...A Little Boy's Stand
Revolted by the way
you mistreated her face;
a young boy felt the shame
as he saw abuse take place.
The pain reached all sides
the hurt unbelievably hard to take;
the echoes of empty words like
"I'm sorry" filled the bedroom space.
"I love you" was not far behind
with gross images I conjured up;
confused and dismayed at the words
and action of a man he thought he loved.
One day a little boy revolted
against the tyranny of one man
and interrupted at a great cost
the rage that buffeted a woman.
Bravely trading places with her
trauma fell upon his frail body.
In the end one little boy withstood;
One man was shamed successfully

151...Death of a Tree
Somnolent rivers built me a dream
with tones and timbres of death.
It lodged me in a fetal position
under a charred tree full of dread.
The night's black canopy so stoic
dimmed the glimmer of stars hidden,
and hastened to disarm my logic
amidst these obscure surroundings.
As confusion settled uncomfortably
I stood up to look up at the sky;
my eyes shone as candles to trace
faint outlines of branches carbonized.
Baffled at what was before me
instincts forced my hands to reach
but the fragile timber fragmented
along with a rationale that was breached.
Disquieted I then cried out to God
and inquired what it was all about,
and He gave me some understanding
planting in my heart something profound.
The tree is indicative of man's condition
a monument to death and destruction.
The folly of men has crossed a threshold;
they have removed God from their imagination.
A time of darkness will cover the earth
poignantly marking the beginning of the end
Lovers of death will usher in the biggest lie
“Peace! Peace...There is peace among men”.

150...Struck by; PROMPT
I am struck by the way your kisses
still take me back to our first kiss;
Still smitten, your clouds of bliss
have not changed one bit
---------------------------------
Struck by the innate ability
we possess as one to complete
a world fashioned for two;
Love smoothing out the seams
---------------------------------
Struck by a healthy dose
of skepticism and common sense
I was leery of the words chosen
when u claimed "he's just a friend"
---------------------------------
A shiver went down my spine
when I was struck by the tone
of three dreaded words
that broke the peace on loan
---------------------------------
Struck by lightning twice;
what are the odds of this anomaly?
A second round with you better work
because I'm afraid a third will kill me.
---------------------------------
Struck by that thing in your hand
you refuse to put down or power off
Your mind is too distracted
to perceive I am turned off
----------------------------------
Struck by a great hurt justice escorted;
it implied they must be tallied
one by one to balance the scales
then the old man will disappear quietly
----------------------------------
No matter who you are
or the distance it can be
the smile brings close
those who share in its beauty

149...The Journey

To find you I shall journey to the infinities
of galaxies and planets trajectories.
Leap from star to star my wretched soul
yearning solace in one your eyes may behold.
From that star I shall leap on to your moon
and into your open arms in full bloom.
I shall gaze unto the sparkle of your eyes
and behold the morning star clear and bright.
I will touch the star you touch and be one again
Then, the earth and the moon will be content.

Shall I awake to marvel at my morning star?
Or gaze at a silhouette of stone breaking apart.
Shall I awake to the warmth of your breath?
Or face a cold bed left still, silent, with your scent.
Shall I awake to explore life's sweet mysteries?
Or ride the merry go round of colorful miseries.
How Shall I awake without my morning star?
How Shall I awake without my beating heart?

147...The Bone Clocks Prompt
Strewn about the desert sand;
my feet lost kissing the clouds;
the bone clock announces
forever has begun without a doubt
-----------------------------------------
As I turned back the hands
of pale bone clocks in array
Life began to form in order again,
and color removed the shame.
-----------------------------------------
A curiosity stood as a bone clock
that told time with the shadow
Until you came as the sun
to break the monotony it owned
-----------------------------------------
Bone clocks made me cry
when I felt the pain of life
rudely carved out of existence
into obsolete reminders of mankind

146...The Visit
Let me be happy one more second
within your wings embracing me;
it's not easy to imagine you away
so far away from arms reach.
I am certain where I belong
since I was lost once before.
It's within your orbit I'll keep
til my time ends and enter forever more.
Let me be happy just one second more,
keep your feathers caressing me
if only in my sleep to receive
within this lucid journey of my dream
Dawn will break the twilight soon
and the terms of your visit will end
Left to put the pieces of this bone clock
called grief back together again.

146...SPURTS TWEETED
I fell in love with you
knowing full well from the outset
the complicated versions
we claim to know...but actually pretend
----------------------------------
Lost in words is better than
being lost in your thoughts
I find my way back sooner
from the confusion wrought
----------------------------------
Wishful thinking
is all that remains
ever since I learned to listen
to every word you say
----------------------------------
Missing you
unfortunately
will be the easiest
It's forgetting you
that will be
extremely hard to pretend
----------------------------------
The language of love has no dialects
just inherited traits of flaws.
When we learn our human dimensions
we can embrace perfect love as a cause.
---------------------------------
Intolerable at times
yet pleasurable most days
to see the destructive taste
that sends me through your lovers maze
---------------------------------
A man needs to discern
his flaws before he can offer
practical love that endures;
the flesh is just a factor
---------------------------------
The flesh seeks pleasure
the spirit seeks fulfillment
the mind & heart knowledge;
yet one is a detriment
---------------------------------
Practical love is Godly
a blessing few attain in one life
The oneness of the souls that build
a monument that stands the test of time
----------------------------------
"I'm sorry"are trust words;
believing it once is allowed.
Two will start to make me wonder
Three; become words like love & hate tossed about.
----------------------------------
I am the spirit of the wild horse
running free in a field of dreams
You the only rider to ever tame me
why change and instead choose to train me?
----------------------------------
Justice brought to bear great hurt
to remind me they must be tallied
one by one to balance the scales
then the old man will disappear gladly
----------------------------------
Strange times merit attention
Consistency is unappealing
Malleable positions attractive
Grounded into conformity prisms
-----------------------------------
My first hundred was a percentage rate
I learned not to use when love is at stake
50 percent is much better
provided its not fake.
-----------------------------------
The distracted mind
is like a lighthouse
whose beacon is dimmed
with shipwrecks abound
-----------------------------------
The distracted mind
are like black violets
that wither and die;
with a little care could've lived.

145...HINTING
Creative thinking brings me
to the core of your being
hinting with quiet desperation
how do I keep you believing.
---------------------------------------
Hinting with your touch
and silence speaking eloquently
I delved into your pools of delight
to fall on my knees where you wanted me
---------------------------------------
I tremble at the notion of hinting
and languish at the prospect
to tell you my fair lady
three words you do not expect.
---------------------------------------
Love fired the molecules of dreams,
hinting it fed brazen burning desires,
sustained infinite possibilities;
until you tried to control the fire.
---------------------------------------
Dubious honor bestowed
hinting I am the only one;
a sigh of relief is gasped
when you texted me "we're done"
----------------------------------------
You now embracing the earth
I pray you will have remembered
me hinting that you were special
because now I miss you more than ever

144...UNRIVALED
Unrivaled mystery called love;
each ones gauges fall short.
The expectations are too high
for the tall orders we support.
---------------------------------------------
Unrivaled beauty;
it's easy to hear what you say,
until I look into your eyes,
then it's harder to sustain.
---------------------------------------------
Unrivaled audacity
begged a question to be asked:
Do I love your body more than mind?
A conundrum I will need time to grasp.
---------------------------------------------
Loving himself more than she;
unrivaled lover dons a grin
Then beauty reflected off a mirror
and he saw another in the wings
----------------------------------------------
Unrivaled beauty
vs unbridled passion;
of the two I love
who gets hurt of the three fancied.
----------------------------------------------
God I marvel
at the complexity
of the simplicity
that is life unrivaled ... Help Please!!
----------------------------------------------
Unrivaled rainbow of the universe
I speak to you and I feel good.
I listen carefully, and I love you
evermore like I should.
-----------------------------------------------
Unrivaled imagination
to the tenth power my dear
I am flawed so are you
two things we have in common...fear

To promise to love forever
is to prophesy pain
It's the order of the day
since one of us has changed
--------------------------------------
If I prophesy lies
you may well think them true
because the word love
is dressed up as truth
--------------------------------------
You whispered candor
into my deaf ears and
with warmth you prophesy
I am committed to tears
--------------------------------------
Lay your dreams upon mine
to prophesy our desires,
so when we awake
we can say we shared a fire
--------------------------------------
Clouds of bliss pressed upon my cheek
where once they caressed my lips
Now left in the dark to prophesy an end,
it soon became clear... with another kiss
--------------------------------------
You prophesy our happiness
exist within your control;
which leaves me no option
but to seek it for two on my own
--------------------------------------
To predict the eventual demise
of manners and respect
is to prophesy that peace
will never exist among men

142...Sonnet XCII
I drew love...and in an instant you appeared
as I drew the lines that formed your eyes
your gentle face and sweet lips that drew me
slowly into a state of passion magnified.
Your fine aspects I've grown to idolize
with artistic impressions to dignify
articulate verses that glorify
the gravity of your orbit sublime.
Using these hands that once touched you
I outline the depths of my imagination
and bring forth the angel of my dreams
to make you smile with my sincere adulation.
A world without you truly must be configured,
to dwell within the stars of your constellation.

Life comes out of my very being
each time I delve into the depths
that compels me to think of you,
and manage emotions that otherwise are unfed.
My breathing slowly intensifies
as I close my eyes to ride the skies,
to play with the memories of your smile
because today once again you're in my mind.
To relieve my aching heart untangled
from the knots that present curses,
and endeavor to make you smile
with my devotion to write these verses.
What judgment should I fear doing no wrong
loving you in my creative ways has a purpose.

Let me steal your thoughts today because
governing logic has become a cause.
Life is full of lessons to be learned
and this one is yet to be taught.
How to forget what I don't want to,
not be reminded of what is significant;
cast aside the beauty of it all,
make strides to put aside what is innocent.
I must confess my heart still races
at the mere mention of your name
and the symphony of words that comprise
pieces of my heart need to be tamed.
Twenty thee days past the new year
marks a time...I yearn to touch your sweet face.

can one forget a rainbow so soon,
a shooting star passing through,
the first kiss walking on the moon?
Can one dismiss the touch of a woman,
alluring fragrance of her tresses,
the warm whisper of a gentle command;
gifts of pure delight deemed precious?
A man is wholly obliged to discern
what is beautiful and what is good.
A quarter of a century in the making
stars realign to evoke as it should;
Its within the fold of your embrace
a heaven for two is understood.

Yield accolades befitting her style,
candied treats to suit the occasion.
Lend one rose over and above two dozen
before twenty five candles set in formation.
Yield the solemn promises she merits,
the gifts that meet her expectations.
Caring hands that stroke her semblance
when she dons a smile for creation.
Yield all the love she's able to bear
in her world with no complications.
Soon after the candles have melted away
and roses have wilted in graceful fashion;
once in a lifetime, special everyday
she'll remain standing as your inspiration.

I could remember clearly not planning
around the order of your gentle world,
looking long enough into your eyes,
discerning the wisdom of your pearls.
I could recall in my vanity
overlooking that you were the beautiful one,
oblivious to tears you may have cried;
how it was all becoming undone.
I can recollect your confessions
pouring over a glass of red wine,
whispering honesty in my deaf ears;
your inner most secrets by pillow's side.
Truly a bold spirit had compromised
to explore a grief, to me now consigned.

133....The Great Pretender
Just claim that I am.
Not voluntarily say "I love you",
Just perform when asked.
Well rehearsed responses
Handy for those times
Your owned insecurities
And foibles collide.
I'm not here to love your mind,
Just your body lines.
Whisper what you want to hear
When we're drunk on wine.
Here! not because I need you,
But because I want you.
Not obliged to tell the truth,
Just what you think is true.
I'm not here to commit,
Just say that I do.
Not listen to what you say,
just pretend I do.
You're in the mind to control,
Impose your will and rules.
I'll keep bringing the flowers
Because you told me to.
I'm here to play the role well
So you don't relent
From giving me what I want;
Sex with your consent.
The one that is the master
Discourages dissent;
So two faces on one head
Lie beside you in bed.
I'm not here to fall in love.
Just claim that I am.
