39..."In Love"
Life is so fickle indeed!
It comes bearing gifts of pain
delusions and confusion.
Perplexing twisted fates
all of our own doings
creations of the mind.
Prisoners of our own hearts
captives of our own accord
the torturer of our soul.
Hiding behind a facade
of distorted smiles and streaks
of so many tears fallen.
We love what we can't have
Want what we don't need.
Plagued by "in love" disease.
Love irrationally unconditional
one who does not love back.
The eyes are so blind.
Need the constant rejection
of who does not want.
Yet gets all your attention.
I don't deserve to be in love
or maybe its vice-verse.
I can't seem to get this right.
What I am keenly aware of
Is, I suffer from "in love" disease
and it hurts so much inside.

38...Don't give up on us
Don’t give up on us,
give up on this love affair.
Give up on what we have
please don’t, if you care.
Don’t bring down the walls
we built with so much care.
With tenderness and love we built
something strong…so rare.
Baby think this through
we’ve invested so much in love.
Invested in the simple things
of our dreams...or so it seems.
How can we pretend
to bring down this mighty love.
Live besides the ruins
of our dreams…this misdeed.
The promises we have,
all the pacts that were made.
Piece by piece all fading away
Don’t let it end this way...please stay
If this love does not work out,
chances are we’ll both regret this.
Baby this love must survive this.
This love must persist!
This love must persist!
This love must persist!

37...Where is my fellow Human?
Where are the people?
Where is the nation?
Today my eyes wide awaken
where is my fellow Human?
My brothers, my sisters,
sons and daughters
of fathers and mothers
grandmothers and grandfathers.
In this mountain of sorrow
they've covered your face
with your brother's back
hiding you in this place.
The earth not in your eyes
or in your mouth to taste
the land of high mountains
from whence you came.
Now part of the rubble
part concrete part human
plowed neatly aside
as to be forgotten.
Where are the people?
Where is the nation?
Today my eyes wide awaken
where is my fellow Human?
Upon which rock shall be built
a peace from this hell,
restore the smile in those eyes,
lift this cursed veil.
Torn asunder by superstition
judgment could be understood.
Yet the dead do not speak,
only the living can turn good.
The piercing cries of sorrow
resound ever so clearly
to the heart it speaks volumes;
Is there hope in this misery?

Authors comments;
The tragic events and forces of nature unleashed in the island of Haiti. The dynamics of the human elements that have unfolded, moved me to write these humble words.
Through mine eyes seeing their perspective from afar, inspired words from an undressed soul with compassion for my fellow human being. A voice amidst the noisy silence.
Though I am not Haitian nor have I ever been there, We are of the same race.........Human.

36...Take me!
Take me by the hand
where you want me to be.
Show me the place
you want me to see.
Hold me like you want to
and don't let me go.
As long as you desire
keep holding me close.
Take me, show me
I'll carry you if need be.
But don't stop kissing me
not even to breathe.
On clear night skies
or of winter storms,
it’s your gentle lips
that keep me warm.
Burning with desires
Passion's carnal delights
Tonight...we and the aurora
caress crazy the skies.

35...Sonnet XX
I am no longer seeking flowers in space
for a perfect world in you my love, I've seen
glimmering within the depths of your eyes
the rainbow of the universe in all it's glory.
In living color from the earth rising
streaming along the endless blue skies.
My simple universe transformed forever
as Cupid's golden arrow released precise.
Showing me your marvelous galaxies,
beyond the peak of this phenomenon,
discovering a whole new world of love.
Ever since then all the flowers of space
in haste make way to my lovesick heart
and the rainbow of the universe I so love.

34...Speak
What the heart speaks of
It tells no lie.
He that hath eyes
See where real love lies.
What your eyes clearly see
Be not deceived.
Step back...see where you stand,
Now tell me what you see

33...Cows don't fly!
How is it that I have landed here
in a place where I cannot fly?
Where my feathers are shedding rapidly
and what little bit left I have
is being stepped on and mangled,
plucked away one by one.
Worse yet…clip my wings all together
so I can become one of them.
In a sorrowful existence of denial,
meaningless slogans, colorless banners,
noisy chants that pollute the air.
Fake smiles on the lips of those
that promise to lie all the time,
every time, until the end of time.
Led as cattle to the slaughter,
except for the bull of course.
Since when do cows fly? I ask.
How am I suppose to take flight
amongst all this conceit and selfishness,
pure unadulterated arrogance?
Propped up, humorless, empty souls
hiding behind a pale facade of vanity.
Spreading discontent, defective vocabulary,
distorted perceptions and illogical pride.
That only serve to divide not unite.
What happened to the soul?
The spirit of the night song
traveling in the breeze as musical notes?
The chimes of the heart, percussions and beats
with humbled gladness filled the soul.
The simple working man
With free spirits, the earth in his hands,
the sun and sea in his eyes and soul.
Where are they? Somebody tell me please!
Where are those who have wings?
Why is paradise so near yet so far?
The stars so close but I cannot touch them.
Why do I miss the sound of the ocean,
when its mist is so near to me?
All that remains is cattle.
I reiterate, “Cows do not fly!”
I have to get the hell out of here! “pa que lo sepa!”

32...Heavens
Lips that glisten moist and tender,
hills and valleys of torrid rivers.
My fingers run these corridors,
contours of delicate peaks that quiver.
Between a heaven with stars
and an enchanted forest without.
Terrestrial beings claiming a territory
twirling and whirling the stars about.
Wrapped up in fragrances and beating hearts,
quivering peaks under the shimmering stars.
Immersed in the flavor, the taste of you.
Moans and cries set these heavens apart.
Let us cast a silhouette onto this ground
and consecrate it as an altar.
So we may bear witness to the night
this heaven is not in the stars.

31...Silky Moons Blue
Dancing lovely on top of the world
under two moons, one of blue.
With sweet fragrances sublime
the night's wind song in perfect tune.
Rhythms of life embracing me
as earth and I dance under her moons.
The constellation's canopy
dressing my naked eyes blue.
Glistening on silky sheets of snow
her smile sparkles as diamonds too.
Enchanted wonder caressing me good
I dance free under the moonlight blue

Dedicated to my special friend Sylky, whose words inspired these verses amongst others I have written for her. This one based on her observations on New Year's day in Alaska where she lives. Danced under these two moons sublime....Wow!
